50000 Witches: Workshops
During her exhibition and residency at One Paved Court, artist Noga Shatz in collaboration with the curator Dr Lee Weinberg, will hold a series of creative workshops at the gallery space. This will serve as an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the artist’s research and practice, the curatorial process, and the connection between artist and communities. Each workshop will be dedicated to key artworks within the show. We invite you to dive with us into the world of witches, saints, and monsters.

Workshop 1
Simonetta & Susanna ; The Birth of Venus?
25 May 2023, 12-3pm
We will discuss how the myth of beauty was created through a male gaze.The workshop will include a presentation by the artist, a few fun drawing exercises and a group discussion.
Open to everyone, including groups. All materials are provided. No previous drawing experience is needed.

Artists Talk
All About the Witches
Sunday 4 June 2023, 12- 2 pm
We will look into hidden herstories of witches from the 16th century to mid 20th century; How and when the narrative of witches was shaped, who was ‘qualified’ to be a witch, and how witch hunts were directly linked to royalty fears, power struggles, politics and religion. The talk includes a visual presentation and discussion with the curator Lee Weinberg and Noga Shatz.
