Looking beyond the frame of an animated film, this collective of independent animators showcase the beautiful chaos that occurs in-between the initial sketches and the final film.

“In-Between” is a unique exhibition that allows one to experience the process and final result of an animated film all at once. It begins with a spark of initial ideas and loose sketches and ends with the fully realized films. On the main floor, there will be a variety of art and props on display, from stop-motion puppets used in action to original concept artwork. Upstairs, a curation of the final animated films will be playing with the intention of experiencing a diverse range of themes, techniques and styles.

After receiving their Master’s degree in animation from the Royal College of Art, this collection of award-winning animators has formed a studio in which they organize screenings, gallery shows, workshops and more. They each create independent animated films, often taking on the many roles that go into making a short film such as directing, writing, sound design, and set-building. The collective works in a broad range of mediums and styles, but are united through a passion for independent, authentic animation and innovative storytelling.
