Mundane Shrine II is a group show bringing together international, London-based artists working across illustration, printmaking, sculpture, textile and installation to explore themes and spaces of home, everyday infrastructures, personal and collective memory, and belonging.

The exhibition marks the first curatorial collaboration between Relish (Siobhán Lynch and Alice Sun) and Rosalita Baldassin.

Although the title Mundane Shrine II, may initially seem like an oxymoron, the works featured in the exhibition slowly reveal how the terrestrial and the sacred are not contradictory but exist in continual dialogue.

Everyday objects become catalysts for epiphanies, evoking nostalgia, vulnerability, and reflections on hierarchy and the order of things. Through domestic interiors and familiar objects, viewers encounter moments of reflection, memory, reverence, and secular sanctity all throughout the exhibition.

In Mundane Shrine II, habits become rituals, mugs and piles of dishes turn to relics, and windows look outwards as much as they look inwards – inviting viewers to reflect on how they inhabit and live certain spaces, to reconsider the overlooked, the precious and the ephemeral to reconstruct their own altars.
